This design for a t-shirt was my response to the Trevor Project’s “It Gets Better” campaign. While they suggest to bullied gay teens that things will be better eventually, once they are out of high school, GLSEN Greater Cincinnati was actually working with schools to train teachers and start gay-straight student alliances.
The design used GLSEN brand colors to create a striking image suitable for screen printing.
50 t-shirts were printed though they ultimately sparked conflict between the national organizations who had recently entered into a fundraising partnership. The slogan however, and the sentiment, came directly from teens we were working with.
