Interstate Mobility

This map was commissioned by UrbanCincy, a local urbanist blog. It shows place of residence by state of nativity. At the highest level it’s a great example of boundary effects and MAUP, though zooming in it illustrates an interesting cultural divides between the West and Central/East sides of Cincinnati.

I was more of an East-Sider myself, but my impression, confirmed by this map, was that West-Siders didn’t get out much. West-siders might have their own interpretation, but I’m sure I wouldn’t know.
