Started 2017-07 and ended 2017-08
In the summer of 2017, I had the pleasure of spending a couple weeks at the University of Oxford with Rafael Pereira, working on an application of the code I was developing for my dissertation.
We were working on an analysis of transit accessibility in Rio de Janeiro, with the suspicion that the published GTFS files were not as accurate as one might hope. Alas, the archived AVL data turned out to be less accurate than necessary as well, and we weren’t ultimately able to incorporate it into the analysis. Still, it was a great experience and I learned a lot about data cleaning, Brazil, and English geography.
My thanks to Rafael and the Transport Studies Unit for inviting me!
